Innovaccer is a San Francisco–based healthcare data‑analytics company that helps providers integrate and analyze patient data across care settings. As its platform grew, on‑premises deployments struggled with highly variable workloads (sometimes needing terabytes of compute), idle hardware during low demand, costly hardware refreshes every few years, and the need to maintain high availability and HIPAA compliance.

To address this, Innovaccer moved its platform to AWS, using services such as S3, RDS, EC2/EBS with a Hadoop cluster and a serverless Lambda proof of concept, plus multi‑region replication for failover. The cloud approach enabled rapid provisioning and scaling, eliminated paying for unused capacity, and delivered an estimated 81% reduction in customers’ hardware costs and a 75% cut in IT management costs while improving availability and time‑to‑value.
