A Amazon Web Services Case Study
Inneractive is a Tel Aviv–based mobile ad exchange that connects app developers with global ad networks and serves content to over 450 million unique users monthly. Facing extremely high scale—three to five million ad requests per minute, tens of millions of transactions per minute, and 15–20 TB of raw data daily—the company required near-perfect uptime and low latency (average ad responses under 200 ms) to preserve user experience and revenue.
To meet those demands cost-effectively, Inneractive runs a three-tier AWS EC2 architecture (Reserved instances for base capacity, ~800 Spot Instances for cost-performance, and on‑demand as a top-up) and uses ElastiCache, Redshift, S3/Glacier, VPC, and CloudWatch. By partnering with Spotinst to manage Spot capacity, the team configured the setup in two days, tuned six instance types for performance, and cut infrastructure costs by tens of thousands of dollars—about 20–30% off their monthly AWS bill—while maintaining service levels.
