IGG - Customer Case Study

IGG is a global mobile game developer with more than 340 million player accounts and 18.6 million monthly active users (as of 2016). Because its gamers are worldwide, IGG struggled with regional server deployment, limited scalability, high upfront costs for unpredictable game launches, and the lack of an active‑active disaster recovery system to ensure consistent service.

IGG moved core operations to AWS across multiple regions and worked with AWS Professional Services to build an active‑active disaster recovery center (Oregon) and global game regions, leveraging services like EC2, Auto Scaling, Route 53, S3 and CloudWatch. The result was real‑time remote replication with RTO under 30 minutes and RPO = 0, deployment time cut from four hours to seconds, lower DR costs (no 1:1 resource mirroring), and improved scalability, reliability and reduced O&M overhead.
