Case Study: HTC achieves faster time-to-market and global scalability with Amazon Web Services

A Amazon Web Services Case Study

Preview of the HTC Case Study

HTC - Customer Case Study

HTC, founded in 1997, builds award‑winning mobile devices and runs a Connected Services Division that delivers cloud‑based features like BlinkFeed, HTC Share, HTC Get Started, and HTC Backup. Facing rapid release cycles, unpredictable user demand and a lean operations model, the division needed a way to quickly provision global capacity and handle sudden surges without heavy upfront infrastructure investment.

HTC moved its services to Amazon Web Services, using EC2, S3, DynamoDB, CloudFront, Auto Scaling, multiple Availability Zones and other AWS tools plus Enterprise Support to host services worldwide and manage configuration for over 30 million devices. The shift delivered elastic scale, lower latency through regional deployments, faster time‑to‑market (enabling quicker launches such as HTC Share), better capacity management, and freed developers to focus on innovation rather than infrastructure.
