How Third Space Learning in education reduced connectivity and audio issues while improving availability and scalability using Amazon Chime

Third Space Learning, a provider of online tutoring for schools, needed a more reliable and scalable virtual classroom experience after its previous self-hosted audio solution caused connectivity lapses, session failures, and refund costs. The company turned to Amazon Web Services, using Amazon Chime SDK to improve in-session audio and diagnose issues more effectively.

With Amazon Web Services, Third Space Learning launched its new virtual classroom on Amazon Chime and saw the fewest reported audio issues in its history, including a 50% reduction in reported audio problems during the spring term of 2023. The richer client-side data also improved observability and issue resolution, while AWS pricing and usage-based infrastructure gave the company better cost transparency and reduced wasted spend when sessions were canceled.
