How Queensborough Community College uses AWS Academy curriculum to prepare students for careers in cloud computing

Queensborough Community College needed to close the cloud-skills gap and prepare its diverse student body for in-demand technology roles. To do that, the college partnered with Amazon Web Services and adopted the AWS Academy cloud computing curriculum, along with AWS Training and Certification resources, for both its degree program and grant-funded workforce development classes.

Amazon Web Services provided ready-to-teach courses, videos, quizzes, handbooks, and hands-on labs that helped instructors deliver up-to-date cloud instruction without building materials from scratch. The program also helped prepare students for AWS Certifications; several QCC instructors earned AWS Certifications to teach the courses, strengthening the college’s capacity to train cloud-skilled talent.
