How MECCA is mirroring in-store customer experiences online—with dramatic results

MECCA wanted to mirror its in-store, bespoke beauty service online, but first needed to clean up 23 years of email data and prove that machine learning could deliver personalised customer experiences. Working with Amazon Web Services, MECCA used Amazon Personalize as part of a targeted mascara campaign to test whether tailored product recommendations could improve engagement and conversion.

Amazon Web Services helped MECCA move from proof of concept to delivery by migrating data to Amazon S3, building integrations for automated end-to-end processing, and supporting stakeholder buy-in. The result was a successful rollout of self-service personalisation, with MECCA scaling to 10 million automated recommendations per week and achieving dramatic conversion gains.
