How Autodesk Fusion software is helping companies achieve breakthroughs in product design and manufacturing on AWS

Autodesk used Amazon Web Services, including Amazon EC2, Amazon ECS, and AWS Batch, to power Autodesk Fusion’s generative design capabilities. The challenge was to deliver a cloud-based compute environment that could handle parallelized, high-speed simulation while balancing performance, cost, and scalability for complex design workloads.

Amazon Web Services implemented GPU-powered EC2 instances, a mix of Spot and On-Demand capacity, and container and batch services to run simulation jobs efficiently in the cloud. This helped Autodesk support generative design workflows that enabled customers like PIX Moving to create optimized Robobus interiors in just 1–2 months, with the product ultimately launched in multiple markets including Korea, Spain, Japan, India, and the United States.
