Allina Health, a healthcare provider modernizing its enterprise imaging environment, needed a secure way to move from a legacy PACS to a cloud-based solution without disrupting clinical workflows. With Amazon Web Services and the Visage 7 PACS platform on AWS, the organization aimed to improve uptime, simplify management, and speed access to imaging studies across its network.

Amazon Web Services helped Allina Health and Visage build a secure, dedicated connection using AWS Direct Connect and deploy the environment in under 3 weeks. The new SaaS-based setup off-loaded operating system, firmware, and application maintenance, cut image display time to about 1 second on average—roughly 67% faster than the legacy PACS—and sharply reduced radiology complaints while improving access to prior studies and clinical applications.
