Hotelogix - Customer Case Study

Hotelogix is a web-based hotel management system for small and mid-sized properties, used in 28 countries and developed by Delhi-based HMS Infotech (about 20 employees). After launching commercially in 2010, the company needed a flexible, scalable infrastructure to support rapid growth and frequent updates, so it migrated from a dedicated third‑party server to Amazon Web Services.

On AWS Hotelogix runs on Amazon EC2 with its database on Amazon EBS, hourly snapshots and daily backups to Amazon S3, AMIs for testing and deployment, and CloudWatch monitoring. The move cut compute and storage costs by about 40% and testing-environment costs by 50%, enabled faster parallel upgrades with less customer downtime, and set the team up to add availability zones, Auto Scaling, Amazon RDS and Elastic MapReduce as usage grows.
