Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein's Telemedicine Service Scales to Serve More Than 2 Million Patients on AWS

Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, a nonprofit hospital in São Paulo, Brazil, faced the challenge of scaling its telemedicine services to meet surging demand during the pandemic. Working with Amazon Web Services, the hospital had already started its digital transformation journey in 2018 and needed a secure, scalable model to support care for patients at any volume.

Amazon Web Services helped Einstein Hospital review and redesign its telemedicine architecture to run on the cloud. The result was a major expansion in capacity: telemedicine usage grew from 30,000 patients before migration to more than two million patients by the end of 2020, enabling the hospital to innovate faster and serve patients more effectively.
