Hightail, a creative-collaboration platform for marketers, agencies, and freelancers, needed to move beyond running its own data centers so it could focus more on product innovation and less on infrastructure. The company also faced global growth challenges, long regional deployment times, and a need to store and serve multi-petabyte amounts of large files efficiently. It chose Amazon Web Services, including Amazon S3, AWS Direct Connect, and AWS KMS, to support this shift.

Amazon Web Services helped Hightail migrate its data quickly and securely while improving performance and cost efficiency. With AWS, Hightail cut new region deployment time from two quarters to about two weeks, completed a multipetabyte migration in just over one quarter, and increased upload and download speeds by up to 17 times. Amazon Web Services also improved uptime, enabled tiered storage and automatic scaling, and helped Hightail meet SOC 2 compliance requirements.
