Gritstone Oncology develops personalized immunotherapies that use next‑generation sequencing and deep learning to identify tumor-specific neoantigens from patient biopsies and manufacture patient‑specific treatments. As a startup, Gritstone needed a high‑performance compute environment that could support flexible research workflows while meeting the controls and auditability required for GxP‑compliant clinical delivery—requirements that made on‑premises solutions and off‑the‑shelf genomics platforms unsuitable.
Working with AWS and APN partner Kindly Ops, Gritstone built an integrated, auditable cloud DevOps environment using VPCs, EC2 clusters, EFS/S3, Nextflow orchestration, CloudFormation, image automation, and IAM/CloudTrail for access control and logging. The result is a scalable, secure platform that supports both research and clinical pipelines, enables GxP compliance, delivers specialized high‑performance compute on demand, and accelerated Gritstone’s time to clinic with confidence in security and reproducibility.
