Greenway Health Scales to Hundreds of Terabytes of Data Using Amazon DocumentDB

Greenway Health needed a highly scalable, secure way to unify electronic health record (EHR) data and support regulatory reporting across decades of patient records. The company worked with Amazon Web Services, using Amazon DocumentDB along with other AWS services, to build a solution that could handle hundreds of terabytes of data while simplifying how clients use its EHR systems.

Amazon Web Services Professional Services helped Greenway Health design the architecture and speed development by 6–12 months. Greenway built its data pipeline on Amazon S3 and Amazon DocumentDB, enabling a mirror database for client systems and unified reporting; at full scale, the solution will pull forward nearly 100 TB of data. The result also delivered 99.999999999% durability, lower storage costs, and a cloud-based experience that reduces the need for clients to invest in their own data centers.
