A Amazon Web Services Case Study
Graze, founded in 2008, is a fast-growing healthy-snack company that began as a U.K. subscription service and now sells online and in over 4,000 retail outlets with annual revenue above $100M. Although cloud-native from the start, Graze relied on EC2 for core infrastructure and found managing databases, caching, DNS and servers in-house limited its agility and distracted engineers from growth and product innovation.
Graze migrated to AWS managed services—Docker on Elastic Beanstalk, Amazon RDS, ElastiCache, Route 53, CloudFront, Redshift and Lambda, with VPC for networking—creating consistent deployment environments and freeing the team from routine ops. The move cut support calls and staffing needs, improved performance (about 40% fewer web hits and a 99% cache hit rate), reduced costs, sped deployments and product feedback from months to days, and supported faster retail changes and international expansion.
