GE Healthcare Launches Health Cloud on AWS, Improving Collaboration and Patient Outcomes

GE Healthcare, a global leader in diagnostic imaging and related products, needed to reduce workflow processing time and cut misdiagnoses by improving access to and sharing of medical images across primary care, specialists, and care settings. Limited interoperability and slow access to imaging data were slowing diagnoses, inhibiting collaboration, and increasing costs across healthcare organizations.

To solve this, GE built the GE Health Cloud on AWS—connecting up to 500,000 imaging devices and storing about 1 PB of data while leveraging Amazon S3, EC2, Aurora, SageMaker, Cognito, and the AWS Service Catalog—to provide secure single sign‑on, automated deployments, advanced visualization, and ML-driven analytics. The platform enables faster image access and collaboration, creates an ecosystem for innovation and new business opportunities, and helps improve operational productivity and patient outcomes.
