fme - Customer Case Study

fme is a global IT services firm that helps companies drive digital transformation—especially in life sciences and industrial production—by delivering cloud, business intelligence and enterprise content management solutions. Faced with customers who need fast, secure access to sensitive documents and content in complex processes, fme wanted to demonstrate how modern cloud services could add flexibility, availability and security to OpenText Documentum and other ECM platforms.

fme built an Alexa skill that connects to OpenText Documentum via AWS serverless services (AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB) and runs on AWS infrastructure (VPC, S3, RDS, EC2, Auto Scaling, IAM) to enable voice navigation, content display and read-aloud functionality. The simple, easily integrated solution improved usability, supported secure, scalable backend operations, generated concrete customer leads (including in regulated industries), and opened the door to further voice-driven services and cost-saving onboarding scenarios.
