A Amazon Web Services Case Study
Flywire, a global payments and commerce platform, was rearchitecting its environment on Amazon Web Services and needed to strengthen security while making deployment and operations more efficient. Using Amazon ECS with AWS Fargate, Flywire aimed to reduce engineering overhead, meet compliance requirements like SOC 2 and HIPAA, and improve startup and release speed.
Amazon Web Services helped Flywire implement a serverless stack with AWS Security Hub, Amazon GuardDuty, and AWS Fargate, later adding SOCI to speed container launches. The result was more than 700 ECS clusters with no extra maintenance for the site reliability team, 70% cost savings in development with Fargate Spot, and 60% faster pipelines, enabling Flywire to expand into new markets more quickly.
