Firework Games Delivers a Smooth In-Game User Experience and Saves Manpower Costs with AWS

Firework Games, a startup building the game Spark Era, needed to deliver smooth, fast gameplay for players around the world while managing infrastructure and development costs. Using Amazon Web Services, the company worked to reduce latency, support global traffic, and simplify scaling as player demand grew.

Amazon Web Services implemented a globally scalable setup using Amazon EC2 Auto Scaling, Amazon CloudFront, AWS Regions and Availability Zones, and other AWS services. The results included cutting average latency to 160 ms from 300 ms for users connecting from Korea to US servers, saving up to 30% in costs, supporting up to 20,000 concurrent players with near-zero downtime, and saving about 40 hours of manual infrastructure maintenance and scaling.
