A Amazon Web Services Case Study
Farmobile turns second-by-second machine and agronomic data into standardized Electronic Field Records so farmers can visualize, manage, and monetize what they produce. The company set out to solve major industry challenges — agriculture is among the least digitized sectors, and farmers face gaps in connectivity, data standardization, storage, and the ability to curate or sell their information — while also needing an infrastructure that could scale seasonally.
Farmobile deployed in‑cab PUC IoT devices and built the DataEngine UI and DataStore marketplace, then re‑architected on AWS using services like IoT, Kinesis, ECS, S3, DynamoDB, EMR, and Aurora and Intel’s Hyperledger Sawtooth for blockchain-backed transactions. The result is a secure, scalable platform that handles tens of thousands of devices, gives farmers transparent control and anonymity over data sales, creates new revenue streams, and positions Farmobile for global growth.
