Experian Uses Automatic Remediation on AWS Config to Maintain a Secure Cloud Environment

Experian, a financial services company, needed to standardize and automate its cloud environments while improving security and compliance. Working with Amazon Web Services, Experian adopted AWS-native security tools, including AWS Config, AWS CloudFormation, AWS Lambda, and AWS Systems Manager, to build its centralized Experian Express Cloud environment.

Amazon Web Services implemented automatic remediation for misconfigurations across more than 400 accounts, giving Experian near-real-time visibility and faster troubleshooting. The results included correcting misconfigurations in 2–5 minutes instead of 24 hours with third-party tools, an 80% reduction in Amazon S3 security alerts, and another 80% drop in alerts after queue encryption remediation, while also improving scalability and saving engineering time.
