Experian Enables Next-Generation Credit-Data Analytics Platform Using AWS

Experian, the global credit-data services firm, needed a next-generation, petabyte-scale analytics platform that could process vast volumes of sensitive data while delivering faster time-to-market and the highest security assurances for customers. The challenge was to provide a flexible, self-service environment for analytics and machine learning without compromising privacy or performance.

Experian built the Analytical Sandbox on AWS using Cloudera Hadoop, Apache Spark (PySpark), Kafka, Attunity for data replication, Apigee for APIs, Amazon S3, and a 2,360-core EC2 cluster, with HDFS-level encryption. Delivered in 10 months, the Sandbox quickly became one of Experian’s fastest-growing products, giving clients self-service access with tools like R, Python and H2O, enabling large-scale ML, and providing the elasticity, security, and faster time-to-market Experian required.
