A Amazon Web Services Case Study
EXEM is a Korea-based software company best known for MaxGauge and InterMax, end-to-end database and application performance management tools used by over 450 customers in 29 countries and holding dominant domestic market shares (70%+ overall, up to 80% in finance). Facing growing customer demand to run their on‑premise solutions in the cloud and a strategic shift toward SaaS, EXEM confronted challenges around infrastructure design, operations, pricing and SLAs, service delivery, and go-to-market strategy.
EXEM partnered with AWS to design and operate a SaaS version of its products, leveraging services such as Amazon EC2 (including spot instances), S3 (with lifecycle policies), VPC, ELB, Auto Scaling, CloudWatch, Route 53 and Redshift, and integrating AWS Marketplace billing. The move cut testing costs (EC2 spot) and development time, provided scalable high availability and secure networking, and enabled streamlined billing and global distribution—positioning EXEM to expand its cloud business with AWS partner support and SaaS enablement.
