esuperfund - Customer Case Study

ESUPERFUND is an Australian provider of self-managed super fund (SMSF) services with about 12,000 customers, offering an online client portal and compliance and tax services. The company’s on-premises data center struggled with performance and frequent crashes during peak periods, and ESUPERFUND needed a secure, scalable solution that avoided costly hardware upgrades while protecting sensitive client data.

ESUPERFUND migrated its entire infrastructure to AWS over six months, running .NET applications on 26 Amazon EC2 Reserved Instances, using Amazon RDS for MySQL, Amazon S3 (about 2 TB and growing), Elastic Load Balancing, VPC, Direct Connect, Glacier, and CloudWatch. The move made the site 2–3× faster, eliminated downtime and latency issues, enabled a sixfold increase in server capacity while cutting operating costs by 40%, and delivered stronger security and scalability for future growth.
