Egis Technology Inc. (EgisTec) is a Taipei‑based provider of fingerprint biometrics and data‑encryption solutions that are bundled into millions of PCs and mobile devices worldwide. Facing the need to scale and securely deliver web applications and services for its integrated Tomcat/IIS (Java and ASP.NET) platform across global customers, EgisTec required a cost‑effective, resilient infrastructure that would support rapid growth and simplify configuration and recovery.

EgisTec deployed its website and web applications on Amazon Web Services, using Amazon EC2 with load balancers, AMIs backed by Amazon EBS, configurable security groups, and regular snapshot backups. The move gave them resizable compute and bandwidth, easier recovery and configuration management, and a cost‑effective, secure platform—delivering the reliability and scalability the team needed and strong overall satisfaction with AWS.
