Druva - Customer Case Study

Druva, founded in 2008, is a fast-growing provider of enterprise data-protection solutions best known for its inSync platform, which protects devices for over 1,500 customers and about a million endpoints across 46 countries. To offer a cloud-based version of inSync and meet stringent enterprise security and global availability requirements, Druva needed a cloud provider with multi-region infrastructure so it could focus on its core product rather than infrastructure management.

Druva built inSync Cloud on AWS—running across multiple Availability Zones and regions using Amazon EC2, EBS, RDS, S3 and, later, Amazon DynamoDB—and migrated from Cassandra to DynamoDB to solve scalability and throughput issues. The move reduced EC2 instances by 75% and cut costs by 30%, enabled automated weekly updates, improved scalability, durability, and security, and accelerated time to market.
