A Amazon Web Services Case Study
Delaware North, a global food and hospitality company founded in 1915 that serves roughly half a billion customers a year, faced rising costs and inefficiencies from its on-premises data center as it scaled operations. To support global workloads and improve ROI, the company decided to move most enterprise applications and operations to the cloud.
With help from AWS Professional Services and partner Cloudreach, Delaware North migrated nearly all applications to AWS, eliminating 205 servers (keeping about 20) and reducing its server footprint by more than 90%. The move is expected to save at least $3.5 million over five years and delivered faster provisioning (from 2–3 weeks to one day), DevOps deployment in minutes instead of weeks, improved security compliance, and stronger disaster recovery.
