DBS Bank Uses Amazon ElastiCache for Redis to Run Its Pricing Models at Near Real-Time Speed

DBS Bank needed to speed up its pricing models and handle massive, fluctuating trading workloads more efficiently. Using Amazon Web Services, including Amazon ElastiCache for Redis, DBS sought a near real-time approach to processing complex job queues for its pricing query engine (QPE).

Amazon Web Services implemented Amazon ElastiCache for Redis alongside Amazon EC2 and Amazon ECS to deliver scalable, on-demand infrastructure. The result was a 100x improvement in pricing query response time, from up to 1 minute to as fast as 0.5 seconds, while supporting hundreds of millions of tasks per day and about 10 TB of data daily. DBS also reduced infrastructure and licensing costs, including savings from using EC2 Spot Instances.
