Daiso Built Data Analysis Tools Using AWS, Helping All Employees to Make Data-Driven Business Decisions

Daiso needed a better way to process large volumes of POS and inventory data and make it available for analysis across the business. Its previous BI tool could not retain data long enough, so Daiso turned to Amazon Web Services, using Amazon QuickSight to improve data visualization and support data-driven decisions.

Amazon Web Services helped Daiso build departmental dashboards that gave employees access to long-term sales, inventory, and budget trends. The first rollout was completed in two months, cut BI running costs by more than 1.3 million yen per month, and saved nearly 16 million yen per year. By December 2022, Daiso had released around 40 dashboards company-wide, expanding use to headquarters and stores in the U.S. and Singapore.
