Corporate Governance Risk - Customer Case Study

Corporate Governance Risk Pty Ltd (CGR) is a Perth-based provider of a web-based risk and compliance management application used by clients across industries and in 12 countries. CGR struggled with latency for European users because its hosting was in Australia and needed the ability to rapidly scale (CPU up 200%, memory up 300%) during peak compliance periods while maintaining high availability and cost efficiency.

CGR migrated to AWS, deploying EC2/EBS in a VPC with Route 53, S3 and CloudFront and using multi‑Availability Zone architecture for redundancy and on‑demand capacity. The move cut response times for European users by about three seconds, enabled six‑hour backups and zero‑downtime updates, reduced provisioning from hours to minutes, and lowered costs by paying only for used resources and avoiding dedicated systems administrators.
