CoreTech System, a Taiwan-based CAE software company founded in 1995, develops Moldex3D, a 3D simulation suite for plastic injection molding. To expand from on-premises deployments to a SaaS offering, the company needed a highly scalable, high-performance compute and network backbone to run complex, data-intensive simulation jobs.

CoreTech migrated Moldex3D to AWS, using Amazon EC2 instances with EBS storage and API-driven, auto-scaling clusters that launch and suspend compute nodes on demand. The cloud deployment cut processing time (a standard test model runs in about an hour on eight cores), enabled usage-based billing that opened the product to SMBs, reduced customer upfront costs, and improved customer stickiness and business agility.
