Choice Logistics - Customer Case Study

Choice Logistics is a time-critical delivery provider with a global network of over 800 warehousing locations and a 99% delivery commitment. The company was running a complex on-premises Microsoft Exchange 2007 environment for about 350 mailboxes, incurring hardware, support and colocation costs, and wanted to upgrade to Exchange 2010 while moving messaging to the cloud to improve availability, reduce costs, and gain flexibility.

Working with Smartronix, Choice Logistics migrated most of its Exchange environment to an Amazon VPC on AWS (keeping one on‑premises Hub Transport for legacy public folders), connected via a BGP VPN and deployed across multiple Availability Zones. The solution used EC2 with Windows AMIs, EBS volumes, S3 for snapshots/backups, Nimsoft and CloudWatch for monitoring, and Reserved Instances for cost savings. As a result, Choice can quickly resize servers, leverage AZ redundancy for higher availability, keep the project within budget, and respond faster to changing business needs.
