Cedars School of Excellence - Customer Case Study

Cedars School of Excellence, a small Scottish preparatory school known for its 1:1 iPad learning program, needed a reliable and cost-effective way to manage its devices and deliver software that wasn’t compatible with iPads. Working with Amazon Web Services, the school moved its Jamf Pro device-management server to Amazon EC2 and adopted Amazon WorkSpaces to support legacy Windows-based applications and classroom needs.

Amazon Web Services implemented a cloud-based setup using Amazon EC2, Amazon WorkSpaces, Amazon CloudWatch, and AWS Lambda to streamline device management and automate class-ready desktops. The result was greater flexibility, better use of limited space, and lower costs, with students able to access required software from their iPads and the school only paying when resources were in use.
