Cathay Accelerates Projects and Boosts Reliability by Modernizing Critical Applications on AWS

Cathay Pacific, the Hong Kong-based premium travel brand, needed to modernize its mission-critical applications to improve scalability, resilience, and time-to-market. To support this transformation, Cathay Pacific worked with Amazon Web Services and used AWS services including Amazon RDS, AWS DMS, and Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP to move and manage more than 90 applications in the cloud.

Amazon Web Services helped Cathay Pacific migrate the applications with zero downtime, automate infrastructure, and improve database and storage operations. The results included 99.95% availability, 37% cost savings, an 88% reduction in carbon footprint, and a 55% faster time-to-market, with one project completed in 9 months instead of 18.
