Carrier Fuels Product Development on AWS, Reduces Infrastructure Costs by 45–50%

Carrier, a global provider of sustainable building and refrigeration solutions, needed to escape a slow, costly, and hard-to-scale legacy infrastructure after separating from United Technologies. Using Amazon Web Services and Amazon AppStream 2.0, Carrier set out to modernize applications while avoiding moving technical debt to the cloud.

Amazon Web Services helped Carrier design fully automated AWS environments across multiple regions and migrate workloads starting in 2020. Carrier remediated about 1,300 servers and retired more than 400 servers’ worth of workloads, cutting infrastructure costs by 45–50% and saving millions while accelerating product development and innovation.
