CALHN Improves Patient Care and Alleviates Caregiver Burden through Digital Patient Pathways

Central Adelaide Local Health Network faced growing demand for health services and a need to reduce caregiver burden while improving patient care across multiple hospitals. To address this, it worked with **Amazon Web Services** and the AWS Partner Personify Care, using Personify Care’s digital patient pathway solution on AWS to digitize patient journeys.

**Amazon Web Services** helped enable a solution that streamlined pathways across CALHN’s hospitals and supported programs like My PreHab. The results included a 28% reduction in day-of-surgery cancellations, a 71% reduction in endoscopy waitlist time, 25% shorter cancer CT appointment durations, a 90% response rate, and pre-anaesthesia assessments cut to about 14 minutes from 20–30 minutes, while also freeing staff from over 85% of pre-admission follow-ups.
