Cadreon - Customer Case Study

Cadreon, the advertising‑tech unit of IPG Mediabrands, needed a new audience‑targeting platform to integrate multiple data sources and enable real‑time analysis of very large datasets—up to 20 billion rows and nearly a petabyte of data. With only a small IT team, Cadreon wanted to avoid the complexity and capital expense of an on‑premises build while ensuring the platform could scale quickly as data volumes grew.

Cadreon built the platform on AWS using Amazon EMR (Hadoop and Spark), Druid on EC2, Amazon RDS, and Amazon Redshift, ingesting 240 TB from 11 sources. The solution lets them spin up hundreds of instances on demand (supporting 400 instances with a small team), run big‑data queries in seconds, scale elastically for monthly processing peaks, and avoid large upfront hardware investments—freeing the team to focus on product development and future AWS enhancements.
