BYJU’S Uses AWS to Deliver Cutting-Edge Content to 15 Million Students

BYJU'S, an India-based education technology company, faced the challenge of delivering rich multimedia lessons and personalized learning to a rapidly growing user base while handling large traffic spikes and improving analytics. As the app and website adoption surged, BYJU'S needed a scalable, reliable hosting and data-analysis platform to support millions of students and enable better insights into how learners use content.

BYJU'S migrated its website, apps, and video pipeline to AWS, running workloads on Amazon EC2, storing content in Amazon S3, using Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL, and analyzing usage with Amazon Redshift. The move let them scale on demand—supporting more than 15 million users and absorbing a tenfold traffic spike—while using analytics to personalize learning paths, send targeted notifications, and develop new products such as Alexa-enabled audio lessons.
