A Amazon Web Services Case Study
Burt is a Gothenburg-based data-intelligence startup founded in 2009 that provides analytics for publishers and advertisers across Scandinavia and the US, including several top global media groups. The company needed flexible, rapidly scalable IT to handle growing website data, multiple databases and integrations, and to avoid the capital expense and lead times of building and managing its own data center.
Burt chose AWS—using EC2 with Auto Scaling and ELB, S3/Glacier and Redshift, EMR/Hadoop, and CloudFormation/CodeDeploy—to automate deployments and scale on demand. The move enabled processing of roughly 100,000 messages per second, high availability and compliance, faster time-to-market, lower operational costs, thousands of non‑disruptive deployments, and even prompted some clients to adopt AWS themselves.
