Brault & Martineau Uses AWS to Help Online Furniture Buyers Shop 24/7

Brault & Martineau is a Quebec furniture retailer founded in 1960 with 10 megastores and a growing e-commerce business that serves about 100,000 weekly site users. The company needed 24/7 site availability to support 20% annual growth, but its IBM SoftLayer hosting caused recurring unplanned downtime and disruptive maintenance that hurt online sales and operational productivity.

Working with AWS partner ExoSource, Brault & Martineau migrated its e-commerce and PIM systems to AWS (Amazon EC2, EBS, and RDS), running on roughly 50 EC2 instances. The move eliminated unplanned downtime, improved page load times and product‑catalog accuracy, and lets the company scale to meet growth while freeing IT to develop new features (like an order‑management system) and test workloads in sandbox environments.
