bpx energy Uses AWS to Edge Closer to a Net-Zero Ambition

BPX Energy wanted to move beyond legacy on-premises systems and build a cloud-based operations stack to support its net-zero ambitions. Working with Amazon Web Services, the company began modernizing its industrial IoT and data capabilities, including initial tooling for intelligent operations, production predictions, and warehouse optimization.

Amazon Web Services helped BPX Energy build a secure cloud data lake that consolidated SCADA systems and historians, then used Amazon SageMaker and AWS IoT Greengrass to enable real-time analytics and edge actions at oil wells. The results included stronger security and governance, lower IT and operational ownership costs, better cybersecurity, and the ability to make immediate decisions through real-time data and AI-driven control.
