BP wanted to make its data science machine learning operations more structured, efficient, and scalable on Amazon Web Services. Historically, data scientists struggled to access cloud infrastructure and follow a standardized path for building and deploying models, which often led to one-off solutions. BP used Amazon SageMaker and Amazon Web Services Professional Services to support a new DevOps-based model management approach.

Amazon Web Services helped BP build a Model DevOps Framework that standardized control, monitoring, auditability, and code quality while enabling self-service environments for data scientists. The framework was deployed and fully integrated with BP’s Data Hub in about 9 months, reducing implementation time and improving agility, maintainability, and reuse across projects.
