Bosch Thermotechnology Accelerates IoT Deployment Using AWS Serverless Computing and AWS IoT Core

Bosch Thermotechnology North America (Bosch TTNA) wanted to launch its first cloud-connected heat pump system and needed a way to support highly variable IoT workloads without the burden of managing infrastructure. Working with Amazon Web Services and services including AWS Lambda and AWS IoT Core, Bosch TTNA aimed to create a scalable, low-effort backend for remote monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting.

Amazon Web Services implemented a serverless architecture using AWS Lambda, Amazon SQS, and AWS CloudFormation to standardize and reuse the IoT platform across teams. The solution helped Bosch TTNA launch its connected heat pump in the U.S. in June 2022, reduce time to market by an average of 4 months, and enable near-real-time installation support, remote diagnostics, and smart alerts—improving service delivery, customer satisfaction, and lowering warranty costs.
