A Amazon Web Services Case Study
Ayala Land, the property‑development arm of the Ayala Group, faced growing pressure on its SAP environment as users expanded from 200 to 1,700. Its virtualized data center required frequent costly hardware refreshes and had long procurement lead times (up to five months); an anticipated move to SAP HANA would further increase storage and hardware costs, creating scalability, cost, and performance challenges.
Ayala Land migrated its SAP workloads to AWS—running HANA on EC2 R4 instances with EBS storage, CloudWatch/Lambda automation, IAM security, and AWS Direct Connect. The move cut projected total cost of ownership by 24%, retired 90 TB of storage, automated backups and replication, reduced provisioning from months to hours, and slashed a monthly aging report from 5 days to 2 minutes (average latency 30–40 ms), delivering lower costs, better performance, and reduced operational overhead.
