Arcesium Uses Amazon EBS and Amazon FSR for Faster Database Refreshes

Arcesium, a global financial technology and professional services firm, needed a faster way to refresh large, multiterabyte nonproduction databases for clients without costly filer software, major downtime, or performance loss. The company chose Amazon Web Services and used Amazon EBS on Amazon EC2, along with Amazon FSR, to support consistent, point-in-time database refreshes and backups.

With Amazon Web Services, Arcesium streamlined application-consistent snapshots and fast restores, enabling refreshes of up to 30 environments in a single weekend. The solution cut client environment refresh time by 59% and refresh costs by 58%, while reducing database restore time from 15–20 hours to just 10–15 minutes.
