Anthem Enables Intelligent Claims Processing Using Amazon Textract

Anthem turned to Amazon Web Services to address the challenge of digitizing and automating its claims process, which relied on scanned documents submitted through its provider portal. Using Amazon Textract, Anthem aimed to improve image processing, extract data from forms and tables, and meet security and compliance requirements.

Amazon Web Services implemented a digital-processing workflow powered by Amazon Textract to automatically extract, index, and classify claims documents using OCR and machine learning. As a result, Anthem made processed claims available more efficiently to stakeholders, streamlining claims handling and reducing manual document processing.
