Airtel Digital Ltd Lowers Compute Spend for Music Streaming Service by 70% Using AWS

Wynk Music, the music streaming service from Airtel Digital Ltd, needed to improve operations and scale its platform while reducing the high cost of compute infrastructure. Working with Amazon Web Services, it modernized workloads running on Amazon EKS and Amazon EC2, and adopted services such as AWS Graviton and Karpenter to improve performance and cost efficiency.

Amazon Web Services helped Wynk Music move from EC2 On-Demand to Spot Instances, migrate workloads to Graviton-based instances, and replace legacy autoscaling with Karpenter. The results were significant: compute costs fell by 70%, API service expenses dropped by 47%, Aerospike latency improved by 20–25%, and analytics costs were reduced by 60%, while overall workload efficiency and scalability improved.
