A Amazon Web Services Case Study
2C2P, founded in 2003 and headquartered in Singapore, is a leading Southeast Asian payments provider offering omnichannel acceptance (cards, bank channels, and cash). As transaction volumes grew, its collocated and hybrid infrastructure struggled with scalability, compliance (PCI DSS and PKCS), and availability—around 99.7%—causing unacceptable service disruptions and long lead times (up to a month) to provision new servers.
2C2P migrated to AWS (Singapore region with Oregon DR) in 2014–2015 and adopted an Amazon VPC architecture using EC2, ELB, EBS, DynamoDB, IAM (with 2FA), CloudTrail, and Datadog monitoring. The move delivered 99.999% availability, automated scaling for peak demand, tens of thousands of daily transactions, faster environment provisioning (from a month to half a day–a day), and reduced operational staffing, enabling new regional partnerships and faster product innovation.
