A Amazon SES Case Study
Singapore University of Social Sciences faced the challenge of delivering mobile e‑learning to largely working students while its on‑premises infrastructure caused slow performance, maintenance burden, and long load times. To scale reliably and support app notifications, SUSS adopted AWS services — including Amazon SES for email delivery — to modernize its e‑learning platform.
SUSS migrated its apps to the AWS cloud using Amazon EC2, Elastic Load Balancing, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, Amazon SNS and Amazon SES for notifications, which improved availability and performance. The move delivered 99.999% availability, cut app access times by about 70% (from as much as 10 seconds to a maximum of 3 seconds), and reduced infrastructure costs by 50%, allowing SUSS to redirect savings into application development.
