A Amazon SES Case Study
Mirae Asset Global Investments, a Seoul‑based asset manager, faced degrading performance and capacity limits on collocated servers that threatened website availability and client acquisition. To modernize its web infrastructure and support marketing communications, Mirae Asset Global Investments migrated to Amazon Web Services and adopted services including Amazon EC2, Amazon RDS, Amazon CloudFront, Amazon S3, Amazon CloudWatch and Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES) for sending marketing and information emails.
Using Amazon SES as part of the broader AWS migration, the vendor’s solution stabilized and accelerated Mirae’s websites, cutting operating costs by more than half, achieving nearly 100% availability, and enabling website updates and enhancements about 300% faster than on the prior physical infrastructure. Amazon SES helped ensure reliable delivery of marketing communications while the AWS architecture reduced capital expenditure, minimized latency, and freed the firm to plan further cloud-based expansion.
